Registration now open for MWC 2011

November 5, 2010

All registered attendees get the My MWC social application

With three months to go, you can already register to attend the Mobile World Congress show to be held in Barcelona between the 14th February and 17th February 2011. This year the GSMA has provided the information in mobile-friendly format, so please visit this link from a handset browser. That should take you to this page where you should be able to find the appropriate registration categories.

One of the best reasons for registering early is that you’ll gain access to the special “My MWC” application, which is a social networking portal exclusively for MWC registered attendees.

My MWC logoSadly, the organisers forgot to say which platforms this app supports, but when we get our registration through we’ll let you know.

Another big push for 2011 is the App Planet which will include an App Exhibition, the App Planet Forums and the chance to participate in app-focused networking.

There’s still no news on how to enter the Brand App challenge, though. It was due to be released Late Fall 2010, and you can’t get much later Fall than this.

Countdown2MWC has noticed this app-related activity before. It’s the App Garage which will be “the focal point of GSMA’s Applications-related projects at Mobile World Congress. Featured projects include: OneAPI, RCS DevChallenge, RCS Project and PathFinder. Each day there will be demonstrations on all featured projects.” Sounds interesting.

There’s also a Cloud Forum with sessions on mobile cloud computing sponsored by Cisco, HP, Huawei and NEC. Worth checking out, too.
