Two must-be-there press parties @ MWC

Hacks must register beforehand though

Here’s a couple of press parties you guys might want to know about, although you must be a bona fide member of the press or an analyst. Pepcom is once again holding MobileFocus Global which, naturally, the company claims is the largest press and analyst demo event during the Mobile World Congress show. The company says, “Enjoy great Spanish food and wine, while you get a chance to see what’s new from some of the most important and innovative companies in the mobile and wireless world.” Hmm. Countdown2MWC thought that ShowStoppers was the most famous event of this kind. MobileFocus Global takes place on the first day of the show [Monday February 14th] from 7 pm to 10 pm (19:00 to 22:00) at the Rey Juan Carlos hotel in Barcelona. If you want to go RSVP to Sarah Klimek here.

The catch is that ShowStoppers is the night before [Sunday February 13th] from 5 pm to 8 pm (1700-2000) at exactly the same hotel – except they can’t spell it. It’s Rey – Spanish for King, not Ray as in Ray Charles.

This is what Showstoppers say, “Hot products. Cool companies. An invitation-only event that organizes product introductions, sneak previews and hands-on product demonstrations for journalists, bloggers, financial and industry analysts, and invited industry guests.” There’s no on-site registration so you have to email Steven J. Leon here.

So if you want to get to journalists at MWC you’d better have a chat to Steven or Sarah.

Actually if you’re a shaker and mover you really want to be at the GoMo News Blender which this year [2011] will be held at Incognito Bar, Calle Fusina 6, Barcelona. It’s on the Tuesday from 6.30 pm to 11 pm (18.30-23.00). You need to get an invite from Bena Roberts by joining her Facebook group here.
